Our Story & Team

The people behind
the preparation.

Orbis was built by immigration professionals who worked inside the system long enough to know exactly where it breaks down — and what attorneys actually need to keep their practices running.

02
Our Story

Born from firsthand experience
inside immigration law.

Orbis Immigration Services was founded by Eddie San Miguel, based in Houston, Texas, and Gabriela DeMello, based in Lake Worth, Florida — two foreign-trained lawyers with deep roots in the U.S. immigration system who recognized a persistent gap in the market: immigration attorneys were overwhelmed, yet the options for reliable, specialized paralegal support were limited, inconsistent, or misaligned with how law firms actually operate.

"We knew attorneys didn't need more staff — they needed a partner who could step in, understand the work, and deliver without hand-holding."

Orbis was built directly out of that gap — a document preparation firm structured entirely around how immigration law practices actually work. The terms haven't changed: attorneys review everything, clients stay untouched, and the work gets done right.

Operating remotely across the United States, with particular focus on the high-volume immigration markets of South Florida and the Houston metropolitan area, Orbis brings the expertise of a seasoned paralegal team without the overhead of a traditional employment arrangement.

03
Mission & Purpose

Why we do this work.

Behind every immigration case is a real situation — a family waiting, a business on hold, a person without options. The attorney handling that case carries the weight of it. Our job is to make sure the preparation side never adds to that weight.

We handle document preparation so attorneys can handle the law. That's the scope of our work, and we don't step outside it.

Our Mission

To provide licensed immigration attorneys with reliable, precise, and confidential document preparation support — enabling them to serve more clients without sacrificing quality or professional standards.

Our Values
Precision

Every form, every document, every package is prepared with the same standard we would apply to our own filings. No shortcuts. No assumptions.

Professionalism

We operate under the direct supervision and authority of the attorneys we serve. Their standards are our standards — always.

Trust

We never interact with end clients. Confidentiality is structural, not optional. Your firm's reputation is never at risk in our hands.

Responsiveness

Immigration deadlines don't negotiate. We operate across time zones and beyond standard hours to ensure your cases stay on track.

Meet the Team

The people you'll
actually work with.

Orbis is led by two foreign-trained lawyers with nearly 30 years of combined U.S. immigration experience — across nonprofit agencies, multinational law firms, Oil & Gas companies, and corporate mobility departments. They built a firm where the attorney always has the final word, and the preparation is always done right.

Eddie San Miguel is a foreign-trained lawyer from Mexico with nearly two decades working across global and U.S. immigration. His career has run through large multinational law firms, Oil & Gas companies, mid-size and boutique practices, and national nonprofit agencies — a range that gives him working familiarity with how immigration problems look from every angle: corporate, humanitarian, and everything in between.

Eddie has served top Fortune 500 companies across more than 65 countries, overseen operations in 25 of them, and managed U.S. inbound and outbound immigration for multinational HR departments. His nonprofit work spanned family reunification with the Department of Health and Human Services and humanitarian matters with the Department of Homeland Security.

As CEO of Orbis, Eddie leads client relationships, service standards, and strategic direction. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he is the primary point of contact for firms looking to engage Orbis for the first time.

How We Operate

The principles behind
every file we touch.

01
Attorney authority is always preserved

Nothing is filed, submitted, or sent without the attorney's explicit review and sign-off. You remain the attorney of record on every matter, without exception.

02
No direct client contact — ever

We communicate exclusively with the attorneys and authorized staff at your firm. Your client relationships are yours to manage. We stay in the background, where we belong.

03
Flat-fee, transparent billing

Every engagement is priced clearly upfront. No surprises, no hourly creep, no hidden costs. Your support budget is as predictable as our turnaround times.

04
Built for scale, not just support

As your caseload grows, your access to Orbis grows with it — without the lag time of hiring, onboarding, or training. More cases in, same quality out.
